These were the most popular questions in our lead-up to the opening of Airkix Manchester.
When did Airkix Manchester open?
First flight was December 2nd and we opened our doors to the public on 22nd December 2009. Media day will be January 14th, 2010.
Are my Airkix vouchers valid in Manchester?
All first time flyer vouchers are valid at both tunnels, Manchester or Milton Keynes (unless otherwise stated) but pro-flyer rates vary between the tunnels. All Airkix vouchers are valid for nine months so don't forget to use them in plenty of time.
How do I book my time in Manchester
First time flyers click here and select the best option for you. Returning flyers click here.
Any jobs going?
Most staff are hired but we do still need a great sales person and Customer Receptionists. We now have all the Flight Instructors but will have vacancies in the months to come. Details of the roles can be found here, and they include job descriptions. Please do not email us about jobs but complete the application form and follow the instructions.
For the avoidance of doubt, there is absolutely NO requirement for skydiving experience for any of the roles. Customer Service background and culture is really what matters.
How much Do flights cost?
First time flyer packages in Manchester such as Kix-Start, Air-Born, Family Flight and Learn to Fly will be the same as Milton Keynes prices - see here. Vouchers are valid at both tunnels.
Pro-flyer prices vary between the tunnels and we will run different promotions at the different tunnels.
Will the Airsphere be operating in Manchester?
The sphere is especially developed for the size of the tunnel and rigorously tested for optimum performance. To date, no sphere has been made for a larger tunnel so we will be testing prototypes before making the decision. In the meantime you can fly the Airsphere in Milton Keynes, the only one in the World. http://www.air-sphere.com/
How big is the tunnel?
The new state-of-the-art tunnel is 14ft diameter and has a 39ft high flight chamber, making it the UK's biggest indoor skydiving tunnel by volume. The tunnel is perfect for first time flyers right through to seasoned pro-flyers and skydivers. 4-way is no problem at all in this space. See here for more detail.
