VFS/VRW
The latest freefall team discipline to hit the sport of skydiving is Vertical Formation Skydiving (VFS). It is also often referred to as Vertical Relative Work (VRW). Whichever name you prefer, there’s no doubt that this is the most advanced, challenging and spectacular team event in our sport.
Teams of 4 build formations using high speed body positions normally associated with freeflying. Just like Formation Skydiving (FS), teams are also filmed by a camera flyer during competitions. The more formations performed by each team in a set period of time, the better.
As this new discipline becomes more popular, wind tunnels are more and more providing the platform for medal winning teams to perfect their VFS skills.
Airkix is the proud sponsor of the current UK National VFS Champions and World Bronze medallists, the Bad Lieutenants. They train on a very regular basis at both Airkix facilities in order to retain their champion status.
The team also host regular introductory VFS camps for freeflyers. See our events page for details of forthcoming camps.
