CLAIRE ‘SPARKY’ SCOTT FS1 Camps

Sparky is one of Airkix’s longest serving FS coaches. Since we opened in 2005 she has helped individuals and teams of all levels to progress resulting in numerous national medals. At the 2009 British Nationals, teams coached by Sparky won 6 of the 12 available medals, 3 of them in the same category.

Sparky herself is no stranger to competition; she's won 5 Gold medals in World Championships and World Cups, represented Great Britain in 3 different teams since 1999 and still holds the FAI Women’s World Record with Team Airkix for the most formations in 35 seconds.

Whether you have just graduated off AFF, looking to do your FS1 or further refine your FS skills, Sparky will devise a programme to suit your needs. Sparky’s coaching style is relaxed yet firm, guaranteeing that her students walk away having achieved all their goals and more.

Sparky’s FS1 Camp summary:

The goal of these camps is to refine your 1 on 1 skills and to introduce you to the additional skills required for 4-way. The camps are aimed at those working towards their FS1 (CAT 10), and those who have recently gained FS1.

By the end of the camp you will feel confident to complete any remaining 1 on 1 FS coached skydives and make the subsequent 4-way FS1 qualifications seem much less daunting.

The tunnel camp is split into 2 parts;

20 minutes of 1 on 1 working on individual skills such as basic body position, forward & backward movement, slow fall & fast fall turns (using arms and legs), side slides, positional strength and grip taking.

20 minutes of 4 way: 3 students to 1 coach, giving you the experience of building different formations in a variety of different slots, working on communication, formation set ups, grip management and key discipline.

Flyers should allow approximately 3 to 4 hours on site.

John McIver

They don't come much more experienced than John McIver. With over 15,000 jumps and ten years of FS and Tunnel Coaching John has an amazing pedigree.

He has represented the UK in 4 and 8 way for 15 years coming tantalisingly close to the World Championship podium on two occasions in skydiving's most competed format.

John will be running regular 4-way FS evenings and sessions on a 3 to 1 basis.

Yoko Okazaki Freefly Camps

Come fly with a coach that is both fun and highly experienced.

Yoko has an extensive coaching background in gymnastics and has a passion to improve a flyer's ability at all skill levels.

She has been competing at world level since 1999 and has always been on the podium with three gold medals. A top freeflyer with lots of load organising experience and as well as a two time Vertical World Record holder.

She has over 7,500 jumps, hundreds hours in the tunnel coaching as well as being an IBA rated instructor.

Frazer Smith Freefly Camps

Freefly information

Please keep in mind that we follow a freefly progression where certain skills have to be demonstrated before moving on to the next level.

Briefly described they are: belly-fly, back-fly, walking, sit-fly, transitions and finally head-down.

If you are ready to start flying on your head and you have progressed through all the other levels, please let us know when you book your flights so we will have a qualified safety instructor available for you.
